Our Christmas Performance
The Jolly Postman
We have had an adventurous week in EYFS as we continue our ‘Story Explorer’ topic. Our focus story this week was the Jolly Postman, which has seen the boys and girls take on the job of a Postman/Post lady. After delivering parcels around the school we decided we would send Post Cards home. We designed our own pictures, showing off our fantastic fine motor skills and even attempted to write our names on the back. We then wrapped up for the chilly weather and set off for the nearest Post Box. Luckily, Mrs Humble was on hand to carry the post and even brought in her own outfit.
Hopefully, all the post will have now been delivered! The children have been captivated by our stories, but it is now time to move on to our Christmas fun. Keep posted for further updates as we count down Santa’s arrival.
EYFS Stanhope Show
As our first half-term at Nursery draws to a close we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the children on how well they have settled in. It has been a challenging transition due to the current climate, however the children have shown resilience and a readiness to learn over the past weeks.
To reward the children for their efforts we decided to run our own Stanhope Show. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled in the town earlier in the year. Nevertheless, the staff recreated a number of events and even persuaded Mr. Myers to go in the stocks. The event was kick started by attending the food stand where we all had a hot dog. We then began to carousel around the activities and finished up on a slip and slide.
The children behaved perfectly and had a tremendous amount of fun.
Here is what some of the children made of it,
“The slippy slide was scary but it was so fun.” Emma
“My hot dog was nice. I had two sausages.” Abel
“Can we do it again?!” Charlie
