Cubs Cycling Session in School

On Monday 20th May 2024, Stanhope Cubs did a session on cycling safety using the school yard so that they had somewhere safe to practice.

The cubs all had a great time and learnt a lot about riding their bikes safely.

Patrick also made a bird box and wanted to put it up in our school grounds. Patrick used to attend our school and we are delighted that he wanted to still maintain links with us.

We hope to see nesting birds using the box soon.

Our Stanhope Show Art Competition Winners – During their Transition Day at the end of the Summer Term our children created pieces of art work which were then entered into Stanhope Show.

All children who won a 1st place rosette were then entered into a Championship category and won a cup, special rosette and prize money of £5. The Championship was judged by a local artist (Simon Wilson) who works closely with the school on various art projects.

The winners of the Championship were: Reggie, Bella and Imogen J.

The section winners are shown below:

We definitely have some budding artists who are really creative!

Hula Hooping Taster Sessions – On Wednesday 13th September 2023, we welcomed Sheila from Anvesakayoga. She delivered taster sessions for each Learning Zone in Key Stage Two so that the children could see what an amazing sport Hula Hooping can. Some of the children were amazed to hear that Hula Hooping is part of some professional footballers training plans!

Sheila will be running Hula Hooping after school clubs in school each Wednesday for this half term.
